Jupiter Fire Rescue takes over the town's emergency response
Plus a BMX jam Saturday, Coco Market Sunday and Tyler Cameron's jive.
Residents still dial 911 for fire and medical emergencies. Those calls now bring a Jupiter Fire Rescue engine and crew. The town directly controls its emergency services, staffing and equipment for the first time in decades.
Chief Darrel Donatto made the first official radio call just after midnight, signaling to dispatchers and surrounding agencies that the department was ready. Firefighters and the community marked the handoff at the Jupiter fire station. Months of preparation included swearing in firefighters and a traditional push-in ceremony for the new engines.
Tyler Cameron jives his way through another week on 'Dancing with the Stars'
Jupiter's Tyler Cameron and partner Sharna Burgess advanced on Tuesday, Sept. 29, after a jive to “Still the One” by Orleans on the “Yacht Rock Night” episode. They scored 17 out of 30 and were among the first five teams called safe, a week after nearly being eliminated.
The judges mostly focused on timing: Carrie Ann Inaba said Cameron recovered after a rough start, Derek Hough wanted sharper kicks, and Bruno Tonioli praised the improvement. Singer Taylor Hanson and professional dancer Britt Stewart were eliminated.
Cameron graduated from Jupiter High School in 2012, attended Florida Atlantic University and lives in town, where he runs Image 1 Construction.
