Jupiter Medical Center breaks ground in Palm Beach Gardens
A new JMC hospital is rising at Avenir in Palm Beach Gardens, while two Jupiter projects head to Council.
Jupiter Medical Center has broken ground on a second, neighborhood-style hospital at the Health Park at Avenir in Palm Beach Gardens—not in Jupiter. The planned facility will span roughly 53,000 square feet and include 29 inpatient beds, four operating rooms, and 24-hour emergency services, along with an on-site diagnostic lab and imaging. Right beside it, a separate 47,000-square-foot physician office building is planned to house additional care. Both structures are expected to open in early 2028. The groundbreaking marks a significant growth step for the Jupiter Medical Center system, extending its inpatient, surgical, and emergency capacity to a brand-new campus. Once the doors open, the site will add nearly 30 hospital beds, four operating rooms, and a round-the-clock emergency room operating under the Jupiter Medical Center name, paired with a full physician office building next door. Old Dixie site and Seaglass condo option clear Planning and Zoning
Jupiter's Planning and Zoning Commission voted 7-0 on July 14 to recommend a future-land-use amendment for the vacant 0.77-acre former Cemex site at 1666 N. Old Dixie Highway, a change that would clear the way for two professional office and warehouse buildings on the parcel. In the same meeting, the commission recommended allowing the 23-unit Seaglass development at 105 Rich Circle to move forward as either all rental units or all for-sale condominiums. If Seaglass is built and sold as condos, its workforce-housing payment-in-lieu would climb from $375,000 to $500,000, a $125,000 difference tied to the ownership choice. The Town of Jupiter rescinded the notice on Wednesday, July 22 at 9:20 a.m., clearing homes at 401, 405 and 406 Sea Oats Drive to return to normal water use.
